Introducing Camera shots pt.2





Close-up shots : A shot in which a persons face fills up most of the screen or the shot appears to be taken at close range. They are typically used to draw attention to a particular aspect of a scene.





Establishing shot:  A shot used to establish the location and environment of a scene . Typically used in the first shot of a scene.





Mid Shots: Shows parts of a subject but more in detail, typically framing from the waist up. This allows for of a focus on the subject all while showing some environment. 


Wide shot :  Also known as the wide angle shot, is a shot with a greater horizontal plane of action and greater depth of field and  typically used to show the subject within their surrounding environment.






Long Shot: This shot shows the subject from top to bottom, the character becomes more of a focus in the long shot but the shot tends to be dominated by the scenery. This shot is usually used to show the character and its place in the environment.
