Mise-en-scne Terms Continued...
- Location : The setting of scene that sets the mood and sets the action. Such as the scene that is set based on the location of this picture is a cafe
- Lighting : Lighting is the tool used to convey mood and helps to support the genre of the film. Low key lightning helps to create shadows by eliminating light in order to purposefully create an ominous and suspicious atmosphere. High key lighting keeps the lighting light and balanced in frame . Three way lighting helps to set the character in frame apart from their background. Here is a picture I took of a setting with two different lighting contrasts. One is taken in low lighting and the other in high.
- Colour design : Being able to use color scheme to create harmony or tension in a scene. Or to bring attention to a key visual thing in the frame
