Mise-en-scene Terms
Hello! Welcome back to my Blog ! Its been a while since my last post but during the time away I've done lots of research on the different components that goes into film. Mise-en-scene is one of the elements I've recently learned about and is what I will be discussing in this post.
Mise-en-scene refers to the different elements that goes into the shot or scene to tie it all together. Mise-en-scene has to do with everything that appears within the frame of a scene or shot and how it all ties into the setting and intentional makeup of the set.
Here are some mise-en-scene terms that will help grasp a better understanding of this element.
- Studio : Privately owned studio for an Entertainment company. Used to make films/scenes.
- Production design :Those responsible for the visual concept of the film by creating sets, setting lights, camera angles, and costume for each scene.
- Set Design : A set design is used to bring out the location of the scene and adds more context to the story. Set designs includes anything that is visibly on display in the frame of the shot, including little details. For example, in this picture the Set design of this beach day includes the sand, the attire ,and the way the frame is set up to see what the teens are sitting.
